The Ukiah Library is celebrating National Poetry Month with a literary labyrinth & open mic. Allow yourself to be memorized by a maze of books. Meander through a winding circular path lined with a variety of free volumes, which you can make part of your own collection. In addition to great free reading material, there will also be an open-mic poetry reading.

Avotcja (pronounced Avacha) is a card carrying New York born Musicfanatic/sound junkie & popular Bay Area Radio DeeJay, who’s been published in English & Spanish in the USA, Mexico & Europe. She’s an awardwinning Poet & multi-instrumentalist & leader of the group “Avotcja & Modúpue” (The Bay Area Blues Society’s Jazz Group Of The Year
in 2005 & 2010). She’s a lifelong Musician, Writer, Educator, Storyteller on a shamelessly Spirit driven melodic mission to heal herself. Avotcja talks to the Trees & listens to the Wind against the concrete & when they answer it usually winds up in a Poem or Short Story.
